Stress & sleep
Look at the rhythms of daily life.
Stress and sleep difficulties can affect each other. Sessions may explore routines, worry, workload, relaxation, daily activity and the environment around rest.
Who this is for
- Waking unrefreshed or relying on caffeine to get through the day
- A mind that will not switch off at night
- Shift work, FIFO rosters or irregular schedules
- Burnout and long-term work stress
Working with daily rhythms
Sleep is shaped by more than bedtime. Regular rhythms of waking, light, meals, activity and social contact help the body clock stay steady, and stress can push them out of sync. Sessions can map your current rhythms and build small, sustainable changes, drawing on approaches such as interpersonal and social rhythm work.
Persistent insomnia, breathing difficulties during sleep, marked daytime sleepiness or a sudden change in sleep should be discussed with a GP. Counselling does not replace medical assessment.
